About Me

Survivalist Chick is an American/British Prepper interested in survivalism, prepping, sustainability, living off grid, permaculture, and preparedness for WTSHTF.

Act like an american

This site is my platform for sharing information, expressing my viewpoints about some of the issues we are currently facing, and, what I and many others believe is, the imminent global breakdown of economies, natural resources, social cohesion, and food production and supplies.

Prepping can be overwhelming, draining and lonely, and, ideally, I’d like to connect with other preppers, especially here in the UK. I believe that in these difficult times, it is imperative that those of us who are prepping make connections with other preppers in order to not only pool our physical resources, but also to offer each other emotional support and form small cooperative communities.

Today’s mob families: corporations

The days of relying on the government to take care of us are over. It is blatantly obvious that government has no interest in taking care of the people, but rather in exploiting and controlling us for their gain. We must learn to be more self-reliant and work together in order to not only survive but to thrive.

I’m very interested in sustainability, off grid living, alternative housing options (ie, treehouses, cob houses, etc), organic gardening, and permaculture.

Define necessity

In westernized societies, we have become so disconnected from our natural selves and so sucked in by capitalism and consumerism that we no longer know who we are or how to live in tune with our natural world. Most of us don’t have a clue about how to feed, clothe, and shelter ourselves without buying products and services. If we can’t buy food at a store, how will we feed ourselves?

We have been bullied and brainwashed into total dependence on the State, and if we ever question that or refuse to follow their rules of enslavement, we are labelled nutters on the fringe or we are arrested. How dare we question our Masters and attempt to live as free and self-reliant human beings? It’s all so ridiculous it leaves me utterly stunned. I’m also stunned that so many people can’t see what is so obvious to many of us.

I don’t know what this site can accomplish, I just feel compelled to speak out. I can no longer remain silent. I hope to connect with some of you and develop close friendships and hopefully a supportive, cooperative community in which we can flourish in a more natural, self-reliant lifestyle.

I’m an American expat and I’ve lived in the UK for ten years. This gives me a dual perspective on the cultures and I have a keen interest in the state of affairs in both countries.

I have family here in the UK who are a very important part of my life. I am divorced and have no minor children.

I was raised on homegrown organic vegetables, supplemented by things like tofu, bean sprouts, bulgar, grains, homemade bread, homechurned butter, eggs from our chickens, and lots of other stuff. I still eat healthy for the most part, but do like the occasional fryup, cheeseburger, or steak. And don’t forget the Ben and Jerry’s. Healthy eating is important to me, as I believe good food is the single most important thing we can do for our bodies.

My politics are pretty radical, but left-wing radical, not blowing-shit-up radical. I believe in non-violence and admire peace activists such as Martin Luther King, Jr and Ghandi. Generally speaking I loathe guns, but if I were in danger and it came down to my life or his, I’d shoot the bastard. Assuming I owned a gun, which I don’t.

Dissent IS patriotic!

I think it is our duty as citizens and our right as human beings to question authority, instigate (peaceful) dissent, and fight for our civil liberties. I’ve always been a rebel and don’t abide by oppression, dogma, or even working 9-5 for someone else. Aside from being tired of being a debt slave, I much prefer to live life on my own terms and in my own rhythms rather than under the thumb of some nebulous corporate authority who tells me when I can and can’t eat my lunch or take a day off.

Like most women I simply adore shoes and handbags, but overall I’m not a materialistic person and I don’t live to shop, nor do I give a monkey’s about celebrity gossip or the latest fashion. I do like technology and electronic gadgets and one of my biggest dreads about the imminent meltdown when the shit hits the fan is the prospect of no access to the internet. One of the things I bought for my survival kit is a solar-powered charger for my iPod. At least I’ll have tunes when it all goes tits up.

If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention!

Prior to my interest in survivalism and becoming a prepper, I was interested in sustainability, alternative housing, and self-sufficiency. I’ve always wanted to build my own house and live off grid. Even before the last financial crisis I had become totally disillusioned with consumerism; the concept of mortgages, which I find to be a total scam; and just generally being a debt slave for the super wealthy upper eschelon. We are conned into believing that we must have £300,000 homes, £20,000 cars, etc, etc. It’s all a lie and an entrapment. A girlfriend of mine back in the States built a treehouse for $10,000 and she and her husband live a happy and comfortable life. Shit, why didn’t I think of that? lol

Reminds me of the book ‘1984’

I have a graduate degree from a university in the U.S., though I haven’t worked in that field since emigrating here. I have a lot of life experience, a lot of common sense, and a very open mind. I am open to differing opinions, alternative viewpoints, and cultural diversity. I value honesty, integrity, intelligence, compassion, and strength. I don’t have much patience for people who piss and moan about their lives yet make no effort to change it.

Ready for maximum madness?

I believe, perhaps naively, that most people are inherently good and that we all want the same things: the meeting of basic needs, safety, good health, happiness, love, friends, family, community, and a productive life, without being a debt slave or under the thumb of government and corporations. I sincerely hope that if everything breaks down, cooperative communities will form, enabling us all to survive in safe, healthy, and adequate environments.
